THE WASHBOARD OF CORBY PARK
Mike Sawdon, North Ferriby
To make out it's a local phenomenon is a little bit short of the mark
It's more like an eighth world wonder 'The washboard of Corby Park' !
Now most washboards are usually hand held, used for skiffle and handy and neat
But then there's 'The Corby Park washboard' the width and length of the whole flipping street!
Now washboards in skiffle go clickety clack, quite pleasing and don't give you the hump
But the Corby Park version is different, an intrusive bumpety bump!
Annoying residents and motorists alike, it must drive the rate payers to tears
As it's not something new which has happened overnight,it's been going on for at least thirty years!
The Council must act to sort this mess out, and for once do better by far,
By this we mean proper lasting repairs, not just another layer of tar!
